5 years ago, Mina Ha lost everything. Her fiancé, her expected financial security, the Fairfax name — all of it vanished into smoke, out of reach. She could have laid down and given up. She could have thrown herself into making fashion, with her parents as support. She could have compelled her parents to seek out a vampire for the purpose of giving her immortality.
In this life, she takes a radically different path. It leading to a collision course with a self-proclaimed cosmic being all the same is just proof the universe has a bad sense of humor.

An original story about a Knight who starts teaching swordplay classes as he recovers from an injury, and the squire he uses as his dummy. It goes well for them, and then it goes terribly. This is secretly a saccharine love story, I'm sorry.

Summary
Mirage was unusual by most vampire hunter standards, both in Europe and the United States. Perhaps the most damning reason was that he had no vendetta against vampires, really.
It was the first unspoken rule of vampire hunters. Don't ask how they got into the profession. From the Venators of the Vatican, to the Vampirdzhiya, it was always a stupid question to ask because you'd never get an optimistic answer. At best they hunted vampires because someone they knew died to one and the worst of it was never disclosed. The answer was only seen through worn eyes and distant stares into the night.
But if you were to ask Mirage why he became a hunter, he'd simply laugh and tell you, "I serve the Djinn. And if the Djinn wants me to kill vampires, then it shall be done."
