Summary
Will's breath catches in his throat as he looks out over the lake, the red and blue lights from the police cruisers reflecting off the water.
An arm, small and frail, hangs limp, pale finger tips dipping into the frigid water as it swings from the force of being moved.
There, in the middle of the group of men all dressed in rescue gear, a little figure lies on a gurney, lifeless and unmoving.
The child's face slowly registers in Will's mind. Hair blotted across the forehead, sticking from the water. Long eyelashes over pale cheeks. A mole above blue, cracked lips.
His favorite jacket on his shoulders.
The realization settles in his stomach, forboding and sickening.
It.. It’s…
“It’s Will. It’s really Will.”

Summary
Knock knock knock
“Jesus Christ! Hold on,” he mumbles, floating down the steps. He flicks on the porch light and yanks the door open. “What the hell are you–” He freezes.
For a moment, he really does believe he’s dreaming. You know, given that not a single fucking thing about this situation makes any goddamn sense. Because on the short trip from his bedroom to the front door, Mike made a list in his head of all of the people that could potentially be on the other side. It was a rather abbreviated list, to be fair: The cops. Nancy. His landlady, Freida. That one drunk guy he occasionally gives a cigarette to if he happens to be smoking on his porch when he walks by.
But it’s not any of those people. It’s Will. A year older, soaking wet, shivering with a waterlogged duffel bag slung over his left shoulder. Yeah. He’s dreaming. Because he had spoken to Will on the phone not even ten hours ago. He was about to go on his three year anniversary date with his long term boyfriend in New York City.
OR:
Will needs some space from his boyfriend, James, and for whatever reason, he decides to take that space at Mike's townhouse in Boston. Mike is going to be so normal about it.

Summary
"I really like being like this with you. It feels safe. Does it have to be more complicated than that?"
Will chews his lip and looks between Mike’s eyes. “I guess not. I feel safe with you too.” He laces his fingers behind Mike’s neck.
“I want this, and I don’t care that you’re a boy. You’re just Will to me.”
OR:
Will has never been kissed. Mike realizes he wants to be the one to kiss Will. As summer progresses, Mike discovers through a dangerous amount of sun exposure, a bottle of aloe vera, and a silver necklace that he wants more than just kisses, and maybe he always has.

Summary
The summer before college, Mike and Will move into a tiny studio together, ready to start their next chapter — only to discover their across-the-street neighbor has a very public, very active sex life. Their weekly “observations for research purposes” are all jokes and commentary…until one night the neighbor brings home a man, and something in Mike shifts. Suddenly the bit isn’t so funny, the spiral is very real, the lines start to get a little too blurry, and the curiosity feels a bit too personal. Unfortunately for Mike, the only thing more distracting than the view outside is his childhood best friend living three feet away.
