From his job in the Armitage L train station booth, Wei Ying has watched The Most Beautiful Man In The World ride the train at 8 am and 4:30 pm for years, always in perfect suits, always with perfect hair, always with a perfect smile.
He's going to marry that guy someday. So what if he doesn't know his name. Names have nothing to do with true love.
When he saves His Future Husband from being squished by a train, Wei Ying finds himself engulfed in a tsunami of Lans who think he really is going to marry Mr. Wonderful, Lan Xichen, their son/brother/uncle/nephew. Despite himself, Wei Ying likes belonging to them. Except for the lying. Except for the guilt. Except for the fact that he took one look at his pretend-fiancé's brother, Lan Zhan, and maybe, MAYBE fell stupidly, hopelessly in love.
He can't tell them. He can't not tell them. How could this possibly get any worse??? (spoiler alert: it gets worse)

AMAZING story based on the movie "While you were sleeping". I first discovered this story via the podfic by Spinifex, (a link to the podfic can be found here - https://archiveofourown.org/works/43473801/chapters/109312194). I had actually never seen that movie before, so after listening to the podfic, I rented the movie and watched it. I can honestly say that to me, this story is SO MUCH BETTER than that movie. Spinifex's podfics are always great, but this one in particular is a favorite feel-good comfort-food kind of podfic. As for the story, you know how there's always a favorite Christmas movie that you watch every year? One that makes you both laugh and cry? This is like that, and something like comfort food, that you can come back to again and again. It's a "found family" story, and the heartfelt dialogue and inner monologue of Wei Ying's feelings had me crying like a baby. There's also laughter, snark, memorable characters, music, hectic family moments, and so much love. And in the podfic Spinifex delivers on so many voices (all distinct, even when singing!). And the chicken music!!🐓 Anyway, the story is so well written, and such a wonderful feel-good story, this is one of my fave modern au stories, definitely would highly recommend!

This is such a lovely story, an in-depth slice-of-life story, covering Sizhui's childhood and growing years with Lan Zhan, with so much character and relationship growth for them both, and also lots of great Jingyi content! Includes world building of a sort, and how they all interact with each other and view their world, duties, and interpretations of the rules. Their student group makes me feel the future of the Lan sect is in good hands. (Also Sizhui's request to the luthier when getting his qin is priceless!).😸
And the podfic is wonderful, one of my favorites in this fandom that I continue to enjoy re-listening to now and then. isweedan's reading is so sweet, thoughtful and expressive. I highly recommend! ❤️

What a sweet series, low angst, low conflict, and high on love and comfort. Perfect when you need a pick me up, something that reminds you that yes, communication is key, people are good, and all will be well for our favorite characters. And yeah, you had me at the "Good Uncle Lan Qiren" tag. And Keri's reading of it is so wonderful, smooth and easy to listen to. It has warmed me in these cold winter days. Would highly recommend! 😺

Hella-long story, but very well written, canon divergence but still coinciding with other canon events. Pacing slow but not in a bad way, it allows TIME for character development and relationship building to progress realistically. I like that it's not rushed, although I never would have had time to actually read it. Thankfully it was podficced (read by the author no less), and podfic is excellent. It's first in a series, and I really look forward to the rest.
