Caitlyn panicked, feeling extraordinarily unprepared having been thrust into her new position without so much as even a handbook to consult. What were the formalities? What was she supposed to respond with? Where was the damn push to talk button…
“Hellooo? I said Houston, do you copy?”
Caitlyn fiddled with her headset, having finally found the green button on the side and hastily letting out a rather breathless reply. “Um, yes. Hello? This is Houston. I copy.”
There was a long pause in which Caitlyn sat twiddling her thumbs, anxiety pushing the frantic pulse of her heartbeat through her eardrums. Was that wrong? Did she already fuck up? She took a steady deep breath, finger hovering over the talk button until the familiar voice of the astronaut came through her headset once more.
“Damn, Houston. I didn’t expect you to sound so sexy.”
OR
Caitlyn has been assigned as the personal capcom to one of the astronauts currently on a year long expedition at the international space station. Cue long months of pining and desperate longing.

Summary
"I'll stitch you up when you are back to consciousness" she mumbled, completely wrapped up in the dressing of the wound. So much so that she did not notice the voice that addressed her, at first.
A female voice with a very distinct American accent. The voice sounded exhausted, parched, low, but strong.
"If you're talking to me, you're going to have to speak English sweetheart"
Caitlyn's eyes widened as she looked up from dressing the wound and cerulean eyes found the greyest ones she had ever seen, sending a rush through her that she was unfamiliar with.
Then, Caitlyn spoke.
English this time, laced with a light French accent.
"I told you your wound would need to be stitched up when you were to wake" she simply informed her, ignoring how heart her started pounding yet again.

During the summer of 1943, Caitlyn rescues US Air Force pilot Violet McAdams from a plane wreck in the French country side, and decides to hide her on her farm to allow her wounds to heal properly.

Vi smiles at the sight. At her and her sister’s dream come to life. Only her dream bleeds with someone else. Someone she can’t have even if she were brave enough to take it.

Summary

Her voice dies in a rasp. She swallows, tries to dislodge the lump in her throat. Doesn’t work.
Vi’s hand lands gently on her wrist, giving a squeeze. She looks up, and Vi offers a fragile smile.
She hefts the armor a smidge higher. Soft as morning sunlight, she whispers, “Gonna help me out, cupcake?”
Or, Caitlyn and Vi gear up for battle. They're a little scared.

Caitlyn gasping against her neck, knee hitched up over her hips as she half-lays atop her, hand fisted in Vi’s loose top, grinding against the soft packer she sleeps in. Vi traces the line of her spine through her own sleep shirt, hiking Caitlyn’s knee higher for a better angle, a dream in stunning, sun-washed warm tones, canvas their sheets. She doesn’t know how long they’ve been doing this, time slipping from them both within the gilded frame of the curtains of their bed, only knows Caitlyn wants more.

Slow burn, my version of everything in between episodes and meetings. A few of my own canon divergent twists just for fun but ultimately follows the main plot line.

“I wasn’t sure." Those texts he’d sent out, unanswered for days, burned him worse than he could have prepared for.
“Need to record your hypothesis and observations before you come to a conclusion, Parrish?” It sounds hurt. Ronan takes a breath. “You could, you know. Explore this, or what the fuck ever, if you need to do it, to know. You could do…anything you want to me.”
Ronan’s skin turns ruddy, first right above his collarbone, then his neck.
Out of control, Adam steps forward. “It would be…awkward in school if something happened between us.”
“Who the fuck would I tell?” It’s hypothetical, and the longer Adam watches him, the more defenseless Ronan looks, the more uncertain.
“Can I?” It's a question that means more to Adam than Ronan could possibly know. Adam Parrish never asked for anything in his life. He’d learned that very early on. Only now, was it something he was actively practicing.
