    Summary

Poseidon's eyes glaze over. Telemachus fidgets awkwardly. "What a wretched man. Such a delightful monster. I'm mostly vengeful, not hateful, but I do think I hate him. I want to gouge out your eyes very much, prince of Ithaca. Would serve him right—would serve me right…"

Telemachus makes a frantic noise. "Wait, gouge out my what?"

"Oh, calm down." Poseidon seems to refocus somewhat from whatever gruesome imagining he'd drifted off to, and levels Telemachus with a disdainful grimace. "I did say I won't be blamed for any harm that befalls you, directly or otherwise. It would be poetic, that's all."

"I don't know what you're talking about," Telemachus says, as politely as possible.

Or: The suitors go through with their plan to throw Telemachus into the sea, but Poseidon has had his fill of Ithacan royalty, thank you very much.
