Summary
At first Tim isn't sure what it is that wakes him up. He opens his eyes and keeps his breathing steady and he waits. The room is silent except his and Jason's breathing, the click of the radiator on the cheap motel wall, and the distant sound of someone's TV in another room, so quiet there's no way that's what has woken him. He lets himself figure out if his own body woke him, but feels no particular need for the restroom and none of the unease that comes with a bad dream or his occasional panic attacks. He's not in any discomfort from sleeping on something wrong or being too hot or too cold.
About to drop it, he closes his eyes and there it is. Jason moans.

“This isn’t over!” Jason called after him.
“Pretty sure it is!” Tim shouted back, letting his feet hit the gravel of the rooftop and taking off in a sprint. By the time Jason got to the AC unit his hood was resting on, Tim was gone.
Not that it mattered, because 19 minutes later Tim got an alert that someone had set off one of the alarms at his apartment.
“Asshole.” Tim muttered under his breath. He debated not even going home, since it just meant dealing with Jason, but the only thing worse than that would be letting Jason rifle through his apartment until his patrol was done.Bookmarked by Fenris13
