There’s a glazed, dazed look to his eyes, unfocused as they dart around, and Troy panics.
“Ilya!” He shouts at the Alpha. “Shane, Rozanov.”

Summary
“You’re an Omega?” Ilya asks, voice like gravel as he fights to keep the growl he can feel building in his throat from getting out.
Hollander pales, legs pulling up as he eyes go wide. “Wha-what? No.” He denies quickly, but Ilya hears the shock in his voice, the shaky edge that hits Ilya in his chest.
“Smell like an Omega,” he says as he moves closer again, putting his leg between Hollander’s and placing his hands on either side of his head. “Taste like one too.”
Shane Hollander has been plaguing Ilya for months at this point. The quiet, polite Canadian burrowing himself in Ilya’s mind to the point of distraction. Surely a night together will finally rid Ilya of this unending craving he can’t seem to satisfy with anyone else.

Still embarrassing, to have his breakup with this beautiful actress filmed and disseminated on Reddit of all fucking places, but not a nail in his coffin, burying him alive. But the video didn’t end there.
“Can I ask if you’ve ever been with another guy?” she had to ask.
And he, tears visible in his eyes, had to nod.

“Have you ever told anyone that before?” He shook his head. “Was it different? With a guy?”

Everything about Professor Lan, from the way he speaks, thoughtful and poignant and never loud— like he was saying I will not raise my voice. If you want to learn, pay attention. It was one hell of a power move, in Hao Mei’s opinion— to the way he dresses, to the way even his gestures have a subtle elegance to them, scream that he is as meticulous as they come.

Please note: I am more than certain there is a western bent to this fic, unfortunately, particularly around the cultivation angle, and I wish I could have done better with that aspect of it.
