She’d dreamed of Emmrich, informing her that the Liches had arranged a meeting for her. Robed figures who called themselves the Executors had revealed how she’d made it to the Necropolis as a child. Told her that they’d plucked her from the Fade, placed her in the crypts, set her on a path of their own making to restore what they had lost. Told her that the Void had used her connection with Spite as a bridge into Thedas, that she needed to go back to the time before Solas’s ritual, and do it all again. And then, they had left her with a final instruction before waking:
Leave the Crow. Spite must not find you.
Even in her dream, she’d lunged for her mageknife at that, plunged her hands into the Fade with an echoing “NO.”
There is no realm — dream or otherwise — in which she’d obey that command.When the Executors send Daphne Ingellvar back in time to relive the events of her time with the Veilguard, they forbid her from doing one thing: saving Lucanis from the Ossuary.

Emmrich again faltered, hands folding in front of himself. He dithered. He searched for words. Well-spoken since childhood, he was quite unused to feeling so wrong-footed. He suspected it was something he would become well acquainted with in the immediate future.
“What,” he said eventually, “are you…looking for?”
“A friend,” Sigrid replied. Again in that simple, earnest and succinct way. “I’d like to be your friend, Emmrich.”
Something in Emmrich’s chest, utterly despite himself, swelled.
“Yes,” he murmured. “I would…like that very much, Sigrid.”
Sigrid smiled and lifted her satchel over her head. “Great. Then let’s get married.”Some years ago, Emmrich Volkarin met his wife, married her, and fell in love with her. In that order.
