“It’s ok” It’s not, Hawks can feel panic creeping up on him at his inability to get the words out. He feels helpless, clutching at the pole going through his body as the world slows around him, darkness swallowing everything.
“No, I-"
“Pretty Bird, please.” Hawks feels his heart stutter at the familiar nickname, heaving out a sob, his whole body shuddering.
