Summary
They don't know what it had been that set Derek off. It had been months after the alpha pack was gone. Stiles had been saved. There had been losses but things had gone back to normal long ago. If you don't count the nightmares that is. They had somehow crawled back into their lives, wounded, but fond of the future they had just saved. And then, just like that, the loft had been empty. A shift in the pack bonds, an emptiness that had clawed at their hearts.
At first they had searched. Hours and hours they had run through the woods for a trace that didn't seem to have a source. Something that had smelled like Derek and yet again didn't. But eventually the searches had stopped.
He’s been out there for months. Stiles knows it. But winter is coming. It’s getting less and less possible to run the woods for them. Derek’s time is running out.
He needs to find a way to lure his wolf home.

Stiles knows what he’s seen last year. He knows what a red cloak and a red cap looks like. Also humans, big bags and roof climbing. He knows. And it doesn't matter how much everyone laughs at him, this year he's gonna prove it and wipe the laugh right off their faces. Who didn't want to sneak up on Santa Claus at least once in his life? Everyone. But who managed to actually catch him just to find out Santa was less old and bearded than his High School's most wanted hottie? Sounds like a Stilinski thing to do. The other thing he found out, however, was a much bigger surprise.
“The other part he still struggled to sort out was that Santa was Derek Hale. The Derek Hale he’d been watching from afar for more than a year now, pining over his perfect looks and pale eyes, not saying anything ever because the son of Beacon Hill’s patron family was so out of his league. Stiles has a scowling wolf in the back of his cruiser but it's not like he's got much of a choice. It's that time of a year again and wolfie there is not gonna ditch again. So Stiles has to get creative, and we all know how that's gonna end up, do we?
“Isn’t it the law that you have to inform your prisoner the grounds on which he’s being taken into custody and tell him his rights?”
“Come on”, Stiles argued. “This isn’t your first time. Don’t tell me you forgot about it.”
A Moment of Silence - the kind of silence with heavy eyebrow communication - passed until Stiles sighed and started.“You have the right to remain silent. As in no sound. No talking. Whatever you say can and will be held against you in the court of law, and trust me I will do just that - ”
