As his eyes focused, though, from what Tenzō could tell from the thumbnail photo, there wasn’t.
Tenzō clicked the notification and it produced a live view of his empty porch. Everything was still, looking foreboding in the strange night-mode lighting. It made Tenzō uneasy.
He tapped the option to watch the recording from when the doorbell had been triggered. It showed nothing. No movement. No sound. And certainly no person.
Mysterious feelings of being watched, malfunctioning technology, and an extremely weird but ridiculously attractive neighbor. Tenzō just can't catch a break these days.

"I want my mom."
Makes sense. Emily can't even remember if she ever saw Jack not latched onto Haley's hand, glued to her side. But now, right now, Jack's a singular thing.
"You want your mom," Emily repeats, not a question.
There's his aunt Jess near the door, giving a polite goodbye to a trio of strangers. But she can't see his mom.
She nods, then. "Okay. We'll find your mom."
