Summary
When Wylan awoke in pain, he thought it was a dream. His head was bleeding. That would explain the wetness in his hair and the spinning of the lights in his blurry vision. There was a wooden chair beneath him and a searing in his ankle and the lights swayed and shifted around a bulky silhouette and he had just about surmised what was possibly happening when a hand struck him hard across the cheek.
“You sleep like a baby.”
