Summary
Four years ago, a mysterious psychic explosion quite literally tore a hole in reality and opened a portal to another dimension. From this portal, terrifying monsters began to spill out, and everything quickly fell into chaos.
Reigen Arataka has spent the last four years surviving by flitting from one group to the next. However, when his most recent group of survivors once again falls apart, he finds himself on his own yet again. Soon, he runs into a new group that calls themselves Claw and later learns about a mysterious kid who has been surviving alone this whole time. When their paths cross, will these two be able to survive in this world of monsters, human and not?
(More characters and tags will be added as the story progresses!!! However, characters that only appear for a very short time and don’t make a significant impact may not be tagged. Don’t want tags getting too cluttered!)

“So,” Reigen said casually. “Are you gonna name him?”
The boy slowly straightened up and hummed softly before shaking his head. “No. If I name him, I’ll just get attached.”
“Not even a nickname?” Reigen asked, quirking a brow.
“A nickname is still a name,” Mob told him.

On their way back from a job, Mob stumbles across an injured bird. The boy decides to take it in and nurse it back to health, and Reigen thinks about his relationship with Mob. -

Exposed sharp teeth that looked like splintered wood was the only facial feature it had. When it opened its mouth, a light brown and sticky substance dripped from it, like sap from a tree. Its breath was strong, Shigeo could even smell it from where he stood. It was sickening with a slight sweetness. Like honey and rot. Fresh spring flowers and moldy decaying wood.It just watched him from behind the trees.

After taking a solo job from a classmate he hardly knows, Mob ends up lost in a vast forest. As he tries to find his way out, he becomes haunted and hunted by the spirit he was supposed to exorcise. -

Reigen was only half listening as the woman spoke. He stared dumbly at his fingers, not even looking her way. A black residue clung to his fingertips after touching the haunted vase. The client’s voice almost became background noise as he sat there, rubbing his fingers together and spreading the ash-like substance further across the tips.

The boy looked at him for a second, before his eyes drifted down again. He stared at his palms before deciding he only needed one hand, then took a moment to count his fingers. He silently mouthed the numbers before holding up three fingers to Reigen.

After taunting an ancient spirit at a shrine, Reigen nearly gets himself cursed. However, while trying to protect his master, Mob gets hit with the curse instead. Now, Reigen and Dimple are forced to take care of a psychic toddler until the curse wears off.

Summary
Reigen didn’t know what happened after Mob entered Asagiri’s body to chase out the spirit from within, but he knew nothing good happened there. And he knew it was only a matter of time before Mob couldn't shoulder it on his own anymore.
He just wasn’t expecting it to happen so quickly.

reigen was sick. not, like, dangerously sick or anything. he was just a bit warm. it wasn't worth bothering anyone over, and certainly not worth pulling mob or serizawa away from their own infinitely more interesting and valuable lives to ask for their help.
in which reigen comes down with a fever and mob tries to help.

Summary
Serizawa furrowed his brows with determination and raised a hand toward the monster with fingers outstretched. A sizzling ray of colorful energy shot out from his fingertips aimed at its head like lightning. The evil spirit lurched its head forward and spun around, letting the shot fly above it and blast into the wall. Serizawa grated his teeth and prepared another attack, but he was too slow.
Using its hind legs to push off the back wall, the evil spirit launched itself forward head-first faster than anyone could predict with open jaws straight toward Reigen and Dimple. They disappeared through its mouth, and were out of sight as it soared over the desk.

Or, an evil spirit eats Dimple and Reigen's spirit along with it! (Remember how Mob left his body to fight Mogami? It's like that). Dimple protects Reigen's spirit as the two are being actively digested and hunted by other evil spirits (similar to Matsuo's spirit container). Tome and Serizawa take care of Reigen's uninhabited body. And Mob isn't picking up the damn phone!
