That's why they tended to let Butcher get away with the things that he did. But in the end? All the work he'd done barely even made a dent in the bigger machinations going on behind the scenes at Vought.
"You're the one that wants to keep going. So. Sweeten the pot."
Homelander’s lip twitched at that first comment. He was used to the little quips and jabs from everyone, but coming from Butcher it was just a little more irritating than others. Maybe that was what he liked about William. He knew how to make it hurt.
His shoulders slowly rose and fell as he filled his lungs with as much air as they could hold, trying to calm his ever-beating heart as he was forced to pull his last attempt to get Butcher to take compound V.

Boba Fett likes to be in control. Din Djarin feels more out of control with every passing day. Giving control over to Boba would make both of them happy. Din just doesn't understand why that has to be so complicated.
