What they weren’t expecting, yet accepted, was you getting bought from them. They were blinded by the picture Vought painted. They didn’t read through properly and relinquished their parental rights to Vought. Which changed your life’s path completely
They were greedy.
Vought decided to try and learn from their past mistakes with Homelander. They wanted to perfect what they failed to do in the past. Make the perfect product. Now, you have to learn how to navigate a world you were never allowed to participate in.

“Homelander,” Hughie began fretfully, watching as he began making his way over to the IV bag containing the bright blue substance. “You really, really don’t want me for this! I can’t - I can’t spy on Butcher for you. I - I won’t!”
With an exasperated sigh, Homelander turned away from the IV bag. “I knew you’d say that. So, I took out a little insurance policy.” He left the room suddenly and came back in, dragging someone by the collar of their shirt.
Hughie’s breath caught in his throat. “Dad?”
Or: Alternate take on S2, Ep3. Homelander abducts Hughie after the incident with the whale and injects him with Compound V to fulfill his plan of taking down Butcher once and for all. An unwilling accomplice, Hughie must follow Homelander’s instructions, lest his father suffer the consequences.

Sometimes, endings are messy. Sometimes, endings feel incomplete, selfish, and painful no matter how much of a cap you try to put on them.
This is an ending for Frenchie and Izzy, and for Frenchie and their friend group at large as well. Not an ending Izzy or any of them saw coming until it was already upon them; all the signs missed. As you'll find Izzy notes in this fic, Frenchie has made up his mind. He's chosen this ending and there's nothing Izzy can do about it.
What he can do is choose how he reacts to it.
NOTE: I've marked ouizzy only as it's the main focus of this fic, but wanted to note down mentions of an ongoing polycule made up of steddyhands and rizzy (and up until this fic, ouizzy too), as I intend to work on more fics in the future that will explore how these relationships exist alongside each other. I should also note this is my fill for the prompt 'gem' for the last day of 10 days to 1k, published late due to ongoing irl things.

"Dad...let them go and I'll go back with you. I promise"
Hearing a thirteen year old boy saying that. Offering himself as a sacrifice... It made her wince.
"Stay back" Luna warned.
It felt stupid now, to even try to warn Homelander, as if that monster couldn't kill her with a look.
"Oh, you got spunk" he seemed so pleased about that. Marie could swear she had heard everyone say that Homelander hated when people weren't afraid of him "I won't hurt anyone" he showed her gloves palms "Nor send anyone back to Elmira. Creepy place, right?" none of them said a word "Alright, then. I just want to talk to you two. The rest can go"
Marie saw Ryan grip Luna's hand.
"Why would you want to talk to me?"
Homelander just smiled. Fangy, terrifying and oddly genuine.

That night, Stede gnawed the wooden support even thinner. Then he tilted his head to one side; gripped the bottom part of it in his teeth and pulled. He felt the wood splintering, and then it snapped. As he pulled it upwards, the wire netting attached to it lifted as well, creating a gap between it and the floor. He took the netting in his teeth, grimacing at the acrid metallic taste of it, and bent it further. Eventually the gap was just big enough for him to squeeze under.
He stared at the gap in slight disbelief. Although this had been his plan all along, it was somehow only now hitting him that this was happening. His heart was beating faster and his mouth felt dry. He licked his paws and started grooming his face, which helped calm him a little.
Stede is a domestic rabbit, frustrated and bored with his monotonous life. Ed is a wild rabbit: chief of a highly successful warren, but equally frustrated and bored. When Stede escapes and makes his way to Ed’s warren they feel an immediate kinship. But then a new threat emerges and they must use all their ingenuity to save their warren from being destroyed…
