Summary
Aymeric, commander of the elvish military, is obliged to form an alliance with Estinien, the vaunted (and feared) knight of the dragons to keep the tenuous peace between their two kingdoms. They have a bit of a…rocky start but eventually cultivate a friendship. And then Estinien’s damn dragon instincts decide it’s time to start courting the fucking elf.
Plot/world obviously heavily inspired by the canon but I did some hefty™ tweaking because I’m a gremlin and it’s what I do.
I’m sorry to my unfinished fics but these pretty knight boys have me in a stranglehold and there’s naught I can do but keep writing them in silly little AUs.

But, that's all. He takes another slow breath. The night is bitter and cold. He must keep watch. The firm weight of the spear in his hands is enough.

Estinien cursed again when caught his gaze racking over Aymeric for the Gods-only-know-teenth time that night– over his Fury damned leg. Put on display for anyone to freely ogle. He clenched his fist hard around his bicep, digging short nails into the fabric of his sleeve until his muscles began to protest.
This was ridiculous. He'd seen Aymeric naked more times than either cared to count– for bathing and sex. He'd watched Aymeric cum while buried in his body to the root– he did not need to get flustered at the barest hint of skin.
Even if that hint of skin encompassed the lord's entire right leg and– Twelve the slit went up to his hip bone.

Estinien wanted to be ruined.
He wanted to drown in Aymeric, to taste his own desperation with every kiss and touch. He didn’t desire pain, his time as a soldier was more than enough to sate any curiosity on the matter. But he needed the firm touch of the only man to ever command him successfully. He desired to receive orders, smoothed afterwards by praise.
Estinien and Aymeric learn that rough sex can be tender too.

From ragged masses and twisted valleys to slim lines of silver faded with age, his skin is littered with scars, and Aymeric is grateful for each and every one, for each scar is another time Halone could have called her champion home. He follows the map they make with the reverence they are due, charting the course of Estinien's life inscribed permanently over his body with gentle fingers and soft lips, and no force in the world could make him see them as blemishes; they are beautiful, and he's more than happy to remind Estinien of it any chance he gets.

Estinien had never asked about Aymeric's past partners, nor he Estinien's, and he'd always been under the impression that they were both satisfied with this status quo - which was what made it all the more surprising when Estinien asked unprompted one night, "How old were you, the first time you took someone to bed?"
An odd choice, perhaps, for post-coital conversation, but somehow it's less awkward than he'd feared, and it gives him a chance to learn something new about his beloved. And, lucky for him, Estinien is more than happy to prove to him that Aymeric is the only one he desires now, in the best way he knows how.
