Summary
He had a book open on his propped up knees, and from his position in the doorway Kojiro could just about see his eyes following the words, could see his mouth subtly moving around the words, his pretty, sharp eyebrows drawn together just above his nose. A shoe was tapping on the back of the chair it was resting on, absentminded as he thought, a twin finger tapping the side of the pages.
Kojiro wanted to run his fingers across his fair skin, through his glowing hair, over his bitten lips.
If he did, he knew Kaoru would jump out of skin; there was a very good chance he didn’t know he was stood there — watching, studying — lost in his own world. And he knew, if he did, Kaoru wouldn’t appreciate his love much anyway.

Well, to be fair, he’d assumed about a week into their friendship that they would get married when they grew up. Because, well, why wouldn’t they? They were always together, they wanted to always be together, and sure they fought a lot but they always laughed a lot after.

It was actually several years later that Kaoru had the very uncomfortable revelation that no, it was beyond assumption, beyond unlikely that they would get married. It was impossible.
That’s what everyone said. Without even knowing it had been Kaoru’s plan.
And, for a very long time, Kaoru believed them.
Yes, Kaoru could remember the exact moment he thought, “I want to marry this idiot.”

When Atsushi is deaged, Dazai drops him off at Chuuya's on his day off. In the process, Chuuya learns that there was something very wrong with Atsushi's childhood and does his best to give him the care he was missing, all the while dealing with the troubling discovery that people call him 'Mama of the Port Mafia' behind his back.

Except it wasn’t Christmas Eve, and Kojiro was never usually this bothered by them).
“What’s new?” Kaoru laughed back, and Kojiro made a stilted noise in the back of his throat.
“They left a note with it.” Kojiro managed out, and Kaoru heard paper ruffling as he spoke. “It says, ‘I love you.’”
Kaoru paused typing.
He didn’t think it would’ve been delivered yet.

“You know what, it doesn’t matter,” Joe interrupted. He hadn’t had sex with a guy, mostly because there was only one guy he ever wanted to have sex with and he was currently sitting next to Joe on the couch, staring very intently and asking very bizarre, out-of-character questions.
Joe had fantasized about this happening in a million different ways. Yet somehow he was totally unprepared for Cherry staring straight at him and asking, “Would you have sex with me?”

“Wait,” Kaoru gasped, pulling back but clinging desperately to Kojiro’s shoulders.
Kojiro pecked the corner of his mouth and looked at him, his brow furrowed. “What is it?”
Kaoru averted his gaze, unable to meet those big ruby-red eyes. “We’ve known each other for forever,” he whispered. “Why do you want this now?”
With a smile, Kojiro smoothed Kaoru’s hair from his face. “Why not now? We’re in Paris. It’s romantic. I can’t think of a better moment.”
Kaoru blinked, still not looking at him, his face red. “Oh.”
“Kaoru. Tell me what you’re thinking. Please.”
Kaoru shrugged. “I mean, it makes sense, honestly. To… do this, when we’re thousands of miles away from home, away from real life…”
Kojiro exhaled a heavy sigh, then nodded as if deciding something important. “Alright. We’re not fucking.”
