Bai Fengjiu has spent most of her young life circling the orbit of the much older, mysterious presence of restaurateur Donghua. Her teen crush has faded, overtaken by her work as a gourmet food blogger, line work at his restaurant Ninth Sky, and university student life. When he shows up on her spring break and blackmails her into being his personal chef she's forced to acknowledge that maybe, just maybe, her feelings for him are still there.
Or also the author read the 三生三世枕上书 translation enough times to memorize it fully, and watched Eternal Love of Dream multiple times, and made a promise to my fellow fans that I would find a way to write the things missing from both the show and the original novel: 1) Bai Qian and Yehua's wedding, and 2) the steamy parts
