She doesn't understand human emotions or humans in general, but she wants to learn and go against her instincts if it means she'll no longer be seen or treated as a monster.

“Allen…Allen…” Riliane sobbed. Her favorite servant who was apparently her twin brother was now dead. He sacrificed himself to save her, and now she was all alone in the world. “Is that your name?” A voice above said. She felt unknown fingers on the small of her back and she whined in protest, not really wanting to be touched after being the main target of a revolution. Still, she didn’t deny the stranger’s question. Because deep down, she knew that there was no turning back now. Allen played the role of the tyrant princess, so now she had to play the role of the loyal servant.

In an alternate universe where Riliane became the new demon of Pride, she immediately targets Germaine to make a contract with her. After all, Germaine led the revolution to kill her.
However, getting Germaine to make a contract might be more difficult than she'd considered…(In this AU it should be noted that Allen got killed by trying to fight off Germaine's army with the soldiers, and Riliane was still captured and beheaded. Germaine didn't learn her brother was killed until after the revolution)
