“Oh Goddess,” Byleth says under her breath, her words heavy.
“Hmm?” goes Edelgard, still half asleep.
Byleth turns her head to look at the woman beside her, nestled among the bed sheets, bare skin just peeking out from underneath. The moonlight pouring in from the windows casts her in an almost ethereal glow. She stares long and hard at the woman, who begins to rub the sleep out of her eyes.
“We’re married,” Byleth manages.
“… Yes,” Edelgard answers, now suddenly quite awake. “We’ve been married for two years now.”

It dawns on Byleth that the war is finally over. Two and a half years later.
(It’s the simple things that move her heart. She’s so happy to finally feel like she’s found home.)

Defeated in her own palace, Emperor Edelgard awaits the killing blow. Only it never comes - a second professor, dressed in Adrestian colors, appears in her throne room and spirits her away to an odd, alternate version of Garreg Mach. Here, in a world where the professor sided with Edelgard and Garreg Mach flies the Imperial flag, three Edelgards defeated by the Church of Seiros must work to prevent that same fate from befalling this timeline as well.
In which Byleth saves the Edelgards of Silver Snow, Verdant Wind, and Azure Moon by dragging them through time to the beginning of Crimson Flower. Fodlan will never be the same.

Summary
At the end of everything, once it was all over, what reason did the YoRHa units have, knowing that there was no longer any YoRHa to go back to? Would they make the same mistakes that lead to their destruction, or would they perhaps simply lead a life of free will? For 2B, the concept of having no prime directive anymore scared her, but she had a guiding hand, in someone who never cared to lead, not for many years.

Summary
