After James and Lily died, Sirius Black's therapist told him not to date for a year. And that's just as well. He's got a 13-month-old baby now and quite enough to deal with, thanks. But the nosy neighbors in his building keep trying to set him up and won't take no for an answer. Enter Remus Lupin, another single dad who pretends to be Sirius's boyfriend, just to get the old lady brigade off his back and nothing more. Nothing more at all.

“Lupin didn’t seem pleased that I was filming last night,” Sirius said lightly.
“Most people that come here…” Lily spoke slowly, choosing her words carefully, “Remus put it like this to me once: most people who choose to spend years of their life so far from civilization have a reason for leaving it behind. Remus wanted someone like us and he held out for so long because he expected he would get sent a bunch of finicky artsy types. I don’t think he expected you. And now that you’re here, I don’t think he quite knows what to do with you.”
When wildlife filmmaker Sirius Black arrives on a remote Antarctic island for a year-long assignment, he isn't phased by the freezing wind, the perpetual darkness, or the hostility he meets from some of the biologists at the research base. He is used to living an itinerant existence. He is comfortable with unforgiving conditions. He expects the world to treat him harshly. But he does not expect to fall in love.

Summary
It's lovely up here; all meadows dotted with wildflowers, wind-beaten tracks criss-crossing this way and that through the fields, weaving inland to the pinewoods. The sun's hot on his back as he passes ramshackle stone walls, long since crumbled to piles of ancient rubble and scree, and then the path winds downwards, still following the line of the coast until Sirius finds himself outside an old white cottage, tucked away behind the hill with a rose garden that faces out to the sea.
Sirius moves to Cornwall for the summer and meets a rude, beautiful boy who is writing a book that may or may not be about dragons.

Don’t get Remus wrong. He loves his friends, he does! Loves them to the moon and back in fact. They’re his people, his favorite part of everyday, his found family. He’d do anything for them. But the thing is that doesn’t take away from the very simple fact that his friends are fucking ridiculous. Remus knows this, has known it for five years now. But it doesn’t stop him from startling awake on the morning of his sixteenth birthday surprised by the sound of fireworks exploding in their dormitory and a raucous chorus of “Happy birthday Moony!” being shouted into his ear with jaunty gusto.
“You are wicked, wicked wizards,” Remus moans from where he refuses to get up on his bed, covering his face with his hands, a good call on his end considering that the very next moment he feels a cascade of confetti pouring all over him. “The worst of the worst! You deserve to rot in Azkaban!”
“Oh how you flatter us Moonykins,” Sirius croons, pulling him up while James and Peter begin a frankly awful rendition of For He’s A Jolly Good Fellow.

Christ! If the guy on screen is cute then the one here, in the fucking flesh, can only be called an Adonis. Bloody Dionysus in the twenty-first century, all angular features and artful waves of obsidian that end a few inches above his shoulders, and a body that practically screams he spent all secondary school in a footie kit. “Bloody hell,” Remus ends up muttering under his breath to his own horror, turning beet red and sinking deeper down in his seat. Really and truly, fuck his entire existence.
“All right mate,” Mr Adonis greets with a bombastic grin and glimmering eyes that reminds Remus of the Welsh morning skies in the winter. Of fucking course even his rudding voice is a velvety baritone that could probably make the filthiest things sound so splendidly elicit, and just of course Remus’s toes curl with absolutely inappropriate arousal.
Damn everything.

Remus travels back to London to celebrate the holiday with his childhood best friend— Lily— and her husband, her baby, and her husbands brother that she’s been trying to get Remus to go out with for a while. On the train ride there, Remus meets the sexiest man he has ever laid his eyes on, and they have an interesting trip indeed.
