Why him?
Why was he the friend who survived?
Three dead, one imprisoned for his betrayal, and then him. The one left behind. The one who could still imagine all their smiles, all their happy moments, and all of their hardships. He never thought that he would be the one sitting here pretending he was being stood up by his friends when in reality they were dead. He didn’t want to garner any sympathy, he just wanted to sit here just a bit longer before he had to go back to his bleak life.
Sirius’ innocence is found two years after that fateful night October 31st, 1981. Someone discovers the information and brings it to Dumbledore and Sirius is trialed and set free. Remus and Sirius are left to pick up the pieces of their friendship that had shattered so harshly in the face of what Remus had thought was betrayal.

For years Bilbo has written about his adventures and told stories about his dealings with dwarves and dragons. To most it seemed like fanciful nonsense but to Bilbo it was all very real. A weight followed him home from his travels, one called regret. Now in his final moments Bilbo has a choice to make – go quietly into death’s embrace or go back again and face all the fear and pain for the chance to make things right?
