She readjusts her hands on the grip of the glass wand. She sees Elphaba’s focus shift towards the movement of her hands. The look in her eyes is scathing as she tells her derisively, “You can wave that wand all you want, but you have no real power.”
(...) No real power, she said. Glinda will show her power. With a sudden viscousness she brings the wand up and lashes out with the pointed end that looks like a mace. She strikes with the aim to hurt, the aim to harm.

Then the girl took a deep breath as if she was going to speak, but she just ended up shutting her eyes tight, and she waved a hand at them. “I’m sorry,” she said, setting her cup of water down while she tried to make sense of it all, “but let me get this straight.” Galinda nodded enthusiastically as Elphaba got her bearings. “*You*,” she opened her eyes and pointed at Fiyero, “want to watch *us*,” she waved the finger frantically between her and Galinda, “have *sex* with each other.” Galinda squeaked at the frankness of it, and Fiyero bit his lip.
