    Summary

Renata “Rook” de Riva arrives in small town Tuscany to try and reconnect with the place her long dead mother spent most of her life. The town is small and ancient, but far from quiet and the worldly but cloistered Rook finds herself drawn to a mysterious man who’s staying in the villa near the city center.
A year spent as a prisoner of the Cosa Nostra has left mafia hitman Lucanis Dellamorte with deep psychological (and physical) scars. He arrives in the little town of Montepulciano at his grandmother’s behest in hopes of healing his body and mind. While he intends to spend his respite in solitude, he soon finds himself falling into Rook’s orbit. In her, Lucanis begins to see a way forward. The chance for a peaceful life. But his past won’t let him go and soon it aims its crosshairs at Rook.

This is my happy place, the fic I write to relax and feel better about the world.
It is a a warm blanket to hug you on a cold night, a romantic slice-of-life, no life-threatening drama Rookanis story set in and around an unnamed university campus and the Lighthouse café with regulars and cameos from a variety of Dragon Age personalities. And yes, the title is an intentional nod at Legends and Lattes ;)

    Summary

Sometimes the smallest choices can change everything.

Varric’s decision to hire a blood mage to stop Solas was one of them.

This is the story of a Rook who isn’t quite what anyone expected. Morally gray and socially awkward, she has little interest in making friends. Enter an Antivan Crow, suspicious of her from the start, and suddenly her plans begin to unravel, threatening more than just her secrecy.

This is also the story of Lucanis Dellamorte, an assassin turned abomination, the last thing he wants is to work alongside the very kind of mage he once hunted. Enter his personal bane, who’s somehow the most tolerant, accepting person he’s ever known, and now he isn’t so sure if he should trust his instincts or his morals.

“You know,” she said, voice low as she raised her hand to gently brush the ridge of the dagger. “I don’t normally use other people's blood in my spells. But I do use my own. So if you’re ever going to try and kill me—” her fingers drifted to skim the blade’s edge, just shy of drawing blood, and Lucanis pulled back with a grunt. “—make sure to do it in one clean move. Or otherwise, without blood involved.”

    Summary

“Hey, sorry, I think they switched us by accident.”

    “Pardon?”

    “Our drinks?”

The stranger — a bald elf wearing a dark turtleneck, his jacket slung over the back of the cafe chair — raised an eyebrow at her. He would be handsome, Ellana thought, if that furrow on his brow didn't go so deep when he caught sight of her face. A city elf then, obviously, or at the very least, not Dalish. Ellana jutted her chin at him, vallaslin highlighted by the early afternoon sun from the nearby window, and raised an eyebrow in return.

Or, Solas' and Ellana's drinks are switched. A meet-cute ensues over drinks and a book.

“What would Varric say if you did complain?”

Lilya pitched her voice low and put on a poor Kirkwall accent. “’No one wants this job, kid, but you’ve got it. Use what you’ve got: the team, their connections, and your skills. You don’t know when to quit, so keep going.’”

Lucanis allowed himself a quiet chuckle at her weak impression but nodded. “It’s good advice, save one thing.”

    “What’s that?”

“If you don’t know when to quit, perhaps you need someone to tell you when it’s alright to stop.”

    “But—”

“You’re no good to anyone if you push so hard you break.”
