It was an offer of princely generosity. Ash's mouth was dry. "And what would you have from me?" he asked.

Of course, Emma was right there by Henry's side as she watched her son mourn for his mother that wasn’t dead, simply trapped in an eternal cursed sleep; a fitting punishment, Emma’s own mother and father had decided, for the woman that had cursed a realm to sleepwalk away 28 years of their lives in a small town in Maine.
That’s how it would have, no doubt, continued had Henry not sneezed.

Violet remembered how Maud had called her family. Lady Enid had spoken in her letter about kindred spirits and how true family was more than just blood. She had never let herself be bound by the limitations and rules of society, and neither would Violet. Family could be what they made it.
Violet offered Robin one of her genuine smiles. “It sounds as though I’ll fit right in with the rest of your family, then.”

Edwin Courcey thrust his hands deeper into his pockets against the February chill as he made his way along Charing Cross Road, but there was a spring in his step as he trod the familiar pavement. He so rarely had the time to simply walk about in London these days, between his work at the Assembly and the university, and he was savouring having an afternoon entirely to himself. He simply hadn’t told the Assembly that his students were studying for examinations this week.
