Finney never meant to drink that much, certainly not at a crowded 1980s house party, not with strangers chanting his name, and certainly not until he was calling Albert in the middle of the night, half-crying into the phone. But Albert comes. He always does.

Finney had spent months, maybe even a full year after the incident, laying awake in bed every single night and dreading falling asleep and having to see him again. He could so vividly imagine himself being stuck in the reoccurring nightmare of a reality that was a hair away from happening, the reality where he lost and got horrifically murdered, but, the nightmare never came. He had become stupidly confident that maybe it really was over.
Finney finally does see him in his dreams again, only it takes a turn down a route he was never expecting.
