Summary
When Fumikage is nine, a new student joins his class. Fumi doesn't pay him much attention, but Dark Shadow is convinced they should talk, and since Dark Shadow doesn't tend to ask Fumi for much, he talks to the new boy, Midoriya Izuku.
When Midoriya's quirk turns out to be that he can create and control tendrils of inky black matter that look identical to Dark Shadow, his green eyes blacking out completely once it's activated, Fumikage is willing to concede that Dark Shadow might have had a point that the boy was worth talking to.
Unfortunately, Dark Shadow continues to be the only smart one between him and Fumikage, so it takes Fumi... a while to realise some things. Like that thinking of Izuku as the only source of brightness he enjoys being around might be for a reason, for example. Clearly, Dark Shadow is going to have to spell things out for Fumikage if he wants to finally see the two of them together.

He was the Symbol of Fear, he could do whatever he wanted! It wasn't as if he liked the guy or anything... he just sort of grew on you... like a fungus.

But college comes with a roommate, who is at turns infuriating and mesmerizing, and Hitoshi finds trust blooming faster than he can rip it out, and something perhaps a little bit more. It coincides with a personal crisis, and he's not sure what the fallout of these ... feelings... these personal revelations will be. But he knows he'd feel lost without Katsuki.
Katsuki Bakugo has one good friend,one damn nerd who keeps hanging around like a fungus, and a whole life worth of bottled up feelings. He's not planning on making friends at college. He DEFINITELY wasn't planning on falling for his roommate.
