Alex crosses his arms again, a line appearing between his brows. “The target is Onisim Sokolo, he’s a Russian National here to make deals and then go back to Russia to get the plutonium.” Henry glares at him expectantly until Alex sighs. “And he’s a gay man with an eye for blonds.”
Ah. “I forget you Yanks are so precious about honeypotting,” Henry says, huffing out a breath.
Alex frowns at him. “Yeah, what a moral failing, I don’t think it’s right to make you whore yourself out. Next time I’ll be more blasé about your ability to consent.”

“Dropped what?”
“I gotta get you some pamphlets,” Alex says, leaning down to press a kiss to the top of Henry’s head.

Summary
By the time they’ve reached the landing, Henry is shaking his arm out of Alex’s grip. “The picture of grace under fire,” he says, the words snapping from his mouth. Alex blinks at him, before his face smooths into its professional mask. “You can’t pick a fight with the Queen’s equerry, no matter how averse you are to the concept of the monarchy.”
Alex looks Henry up at down, his mouth forming a tight line. “I don’t pick fights, Your Majesty,” he says, adjusting his grip on Henry’s suitcase. Henry can’t help but laugh at the ridiculousness of that statement. “Shaan called me a few weeks ago to go over every single thing that made you miserable about the holidays. It was a very long phone call.” Henry doesn’t doubt that. “I’m going to help you avoid as many of those items as possible.”

Alex, an American former-MC, steps in during Shaan’s paternity leave, much to Henry’s chagrin. Fortunately for Henry, the mysterious American just may be the best thing that’s ever happened to him.

Summary
Alex could never understand, not really. He resists that shaping, comes up with a clever way to fit the brief no matter what it demands of him. When the world points a finger at Alex, he stands his ground and demands the universe bends to him. He championed their love when he couldn’t even be sure if Henry could do the same. Alex is brave and immovable and perfect. He’s been loved so fiercely and openly that he never had to question what would happen if that love went away.
Henry hates himself so much that even his own body wants to kill him.

Henry, after living in America, realizes some of the things he’s been living with aren’t normal. Alex teaches him that his pain isn’t in his head, despite what his family thinks.
