Summary
“We think it’s a Soulmate Eater,” Blazer explained to him, the moment he sat down.
“I'm sorry… a what-the-fuck-now?”
“Yeah, that was me, about five days ago,” she sighed, rubbing her shoulder unconsciously, where Robert assumed her mark must be, underneath the purple sweater she was wearing. “But... they’re a thing, apparently! There’s been twelve of them, in recorded supervillain history."
--
A new supervillain is terrorising the city, draining people's soulmate connections and leaving them catatonic, in order to fuel some kind of unknown plot.
But that's totally ok, because Robert Robertson doesn't actually have a soulmate... or so he thinks.

Summary
Still, Ted is placing Trent Crimm, The Independent in the nice fantasy but don't even think about it box.
“I’m sorry Trent, would you mind repeating the question there?”
Besides, Trent probably wouldn't be interested in a proverbial roll in the hay anyway.

Summary
It's really great that Roy and Trent cleaned up whatever bad blood was between them, because Ted is thrilled to have Trent around the Dogtrack. He's so happy to see how well Trent is getting along with Keeley and Rebecca. And the whole team. And even Roy. And Beard, of course. It's great. There ain't a single reason for Ted to not be over the moon about how well everyone's getting along with Trent.
Because it'd be real odd if Ted wasn't over the goddamn moon about it, right?

Summary
"Really," Crowley says, and laughs, sharp and mean. "They gave you the job and not the authority to run it? Well, isn’t that a surprise. If only someone had told you."
"That's not how these things work! It's just—slow going, is all. Change takes time, Crowley."
"Sure, yeah. Climb your way up, but not too much, ey?"
"It's not about me," Aziraphale says, snappy, in that holier-than-thou voice. Crowley smiles mirthlessly, bares his teeth.
"No, you're just a tool for the greater Good, are you. How's that working out, d'you think?"
"Swimmingly, actually. The Metatron really appreciates my suggestions." He smiles—soft, wondrous, almost disbelieving. Crowley wants to scratch it out of his face. Wants to shake him until he comes to his senses and drops to his knees and begs him—
"I always knew you were naive, but not this much," he hisses. "They're going to chew you up and put you through the grinder until you can't take it anymore and then, when you finally, finally snap, they'll cast you down like they did the rest of us."
Aziraphale's eyes flick down once—to his mouth, Crowley realizes, and abruptly steps back, face prickling with shame. Shame, him. Imagine that.

Summary
She'd woken up in an unrecognizable galaxy, jammed together from spare parts, a Cerberus logo stamped on her ass. She'd been handed a beautiful, expensive, top-of-the-line mockery of her old ship, crewed by beautiful, expensive, top-of-the-line terrorists.
The Alliance wanted her to shut up and go back to being conveniently dead. Kaidan, it seemed, felt the same way. Anderson was the only family she'd ever had, and he wouldn't even answer her emails.
And either Shepard's sanity had splintered under the stress, or she was now some kind of unkillable demigod. Or both.

Summary
The first thing Ted thinks, when he sees the guy leaning proprietarily up against the door to their bus, is that he’s got a goddamn beautiful head of hair. The dark, soft-looking fall of it over his face makes Ted’s fingers itch and his stomach roll over in pleasant ways.
The second thing he thinks is: Crap, that’s Trent Crimm, from Independent.

Summary
“I really won’t take it personally if you want someone else here,” Trent murmurs. “Not that I want to go, Ted, but—everyone told me to give you their best wishes. The only reason Coach Beard didn’t come with me is that Roy needed him around to finish up the day.”
“I’d like you to stay,” Ted tells him, which is so hard to say it makes him nauseous.
“Then I will.” Like it’s that easy. Ted sniffs again. He wipes at his face with the back of his hand and grimaces. Trent produces a packet of Kleenex from god knows where—and then, instead of handing it to Ted to clean his own damned face like an adult, he leans in and wipes at his cheeks and beneath his eyes, face twisted in concentration.
"Afraid I'm ruining all your efforts," Ted tells him as more tears stream down his face. He feels cracked open. "Shit, Trent. I'm sorry. I'm sure this wasn't what you were expecting."
"I can't say it was," Trent says, still dabbing at Ted's face with the patience and gentleness that comes only from having an emotional toddler, "but I'm glad I came either way. Now sit tight for a moment."

Summary
Trent is a fan of cosy mystery novels. His favorite author is Dora Lariat, a Midwestern American who has recently moved to London and writes themes ranging from baking to football. For some reason Ted Lasso seems very interested by this fact.

“Hello? Yes, this is Trent Crimm, The Independent. I’ve got a bit of an emergency and need Coach Lasso’s mobile.” Trent paused, brow furrowing in irritation. “Well, his son is currently standing in my office, in my newspaper building, which is filled with bloodthirsty journos. Could you make an exception for that?"

A piercing whistle sliced through the air. Men in red masks and blue cloaks repelled from the treetops, chanting at the top of their lungs, “we’re here, we’re there, we’re every-fucking-where, Masked Men! Masked Men!”

Summary
No reason his heart should pang in such melodramatic fashion when Ted calls on the Independent’s newest reporter covering Richmond. A transplant coming off a start in Cardiff, Meredith Lewis is a crack shot with her questions and Trent was more than delighted to hand off the ropes to her.
His delight decidedly sours when Meredith introduces herself and Ted joins her in saying, “The Independent.”

Summary
"There was a reason he always included his newspaper at the end of his name. People should be identifying Trent with the Birmingham Mail, with journalistic rigor and sarcastic questions, not with locker room smiles. Not with left wing politics. Not with affairs with football players, whose evident straightness could be explained away with a fantasy of tragic closeting.
"But a boy could dream."
Trent Crimm has already lived a long and checkered life as a reporter, but when he meets an inexperienced coach called Ted Lasso, he breaks every single one of his own rules.
