Summary
“I-” It was hard to speak between the pain in his face and the fog in his head. “I don't know...how I got here.”
He blinked and looked around blearily. He was in...a tavern? A bar? It was the same bar he performed in earlier. Or last night. Was it morning already?
“That's okay.” A hand came up to gently brush his hair back. “I'm here now.”

Jaskier wakes up tied to a chair, injured and no memory of what had happened. Rescue comes in the form of a strange mage who gives him refuge as he heals. Jaskier quickly finds himself falling under Rience's spell. And when he tells him that Ciri would be safer with him than with Geralt and asks him to take her from under the witcher's nose, Jaskier cannot say no. -

Summary
Despite his intelligence, Gale was shockingly stupid and stupidly kind. Astarion was half convinced it was why even the prickliest of people seemed to soften to his buffoonery. Comfortable to bare his soul to whoever asked in that guileless way of his, even Lae’zel seemed charmed by his ability to put his foot in his mouth and just keep on talking. At first, it had infuriated Astarion but now he saw it for what it was: his way back into the fold. If he could get himself into a position where he knew Gale would vouch for him, Gale’s relationships with the rest of the party would protect him.
-----------
Astarion thinks he's manipulating Gale so that Gale will protect him. Gale thinks maybe he’s making a new friend? Both are falling in love but they failed their wisdom saving rolls so they don't realize it.
