Summary
One minute Shiro is sitting on the edge of the lake, enjoying the warm sunshine and listening to Lance’s happy shrieks as he splashes in the water while Hunk preps a picnic on the shore. The next he’s somehow back in the Arena with jeering crowds, overbright lights and an opponent charging at him. It doesn’t make sense, but Shiro has no time to figure it out as it’s kill or be killed in the Arena and he refuses to be the one that dies.
The alien frantically bucked, legs kicking wildly as Shiro pushed down harder, willing for the neck to either snap or for the water to do its work.
He felt sick already at the fact it wasn’t as quick a death as he preferred, but better to drown the alien then risk shocking himself with the unknown elements of his prosth—
“What are you doing?” came a panicked shriek from behind.
Shiro craned his neck, feeling his pulse jump as there were apparently two opponents in this Arena fight — this one larger than the first but with the same sort of tan coloring and bright white teeth — and now he had to figure out how to kill both.

Summary
“Don’t forget about our deal, Jinu,” Gwi-Ma sneered, and a gasp was torn from Jinu's lips as his markings flared with new pain and echoes of screams and cries began to rise in volume in his head. "Don’t think you can escape what you are. Don’t you even dare think that you can escape me.”

But the spark of hope that Rumi ignited in Jinu that there could be something beyond this life of misery and shame isn’t so easily extinguished by threats and pain and to Jinu's horror, Gwi-Ma discovers the traitorous thought. Gone now is the deal for his memories to be erased and instead the fates of the Saja Boys, the closest thing Jinu has to family, are now at stake. Either he follows through with his plan and helps Gwi-Ma capture all the human souls, or the only people he's allowed himself to care about will suffer horror and pain for the rest of the eternity. There's no right answer, there's no escape, and no matter what Jinu chooses people are going to get hurt. The only thing he can even try to control is how much.
Or; a darker, whumpier take on Jinu's deal with Gwi-Ma while exploring the backstories of the Saja Boys.

The writing in this is beautiful ♥ A dark, delicious take on Kuron and his relationship with Keith all seen through Lance's eyes. Beautiful, resolved ending and just gives me all the warm fuzzies. Brilliant.

Shiro, in his infinite wisdom as Team Leader (capital letters and all), decides to try his hand at cooking when their residential chef, Hunk, gets injured during a battle. It... does not go well. At all.

This is one of the first VLD fics I read and it really stuck with me. It's a beautiful, dark plot with a different sort of twist than your typical ghostly possession. The imagery is gorgeous and the original characters here are beyond excellent.

Zombie fic (me? zombies? right?) but written beyond gorgeously that I got past that little detail real quick. Amazing characterizations and love the nuances of this plot. Plus, sniper Lance and some seriously beautiful artwork? Amen. ♥
