“I can’t believe you talked me into this,” Tony groused as the three of them walked through the crowd, surrounded on all sides by yelling and glowing light sabers.
“Honestly,” Harley responded, “neither can we.”
Tony scoffed, leading the way through the mess of people to find their way out the other side. Above them, a large banner read COMIC CON NEW YORK, and there was a voice talking over a loud speaker, unidentifiable beneath the voices of everyone else. People were everywhere. People in costumes, people without, people lugging giant motherfucking swords on their shoulders like a 2002 anime character and Peter was having a great time.
He was also about to find out about the Avengers costume contest.

“Sorry, babe,” Keith says. He even smiles, no doubt proud of himself.
And Lance knows it’s his fault. He started it, after all, but at least the biting term of endearment made sense when he was the one doing it. Keith had been talking to him like they were some old married couple. The kind who’ve been married too long and don’t love each other anymore and gripe over meaningless shit, only managing to piss each other off even further.
That’s why Lance called him dear. Because it made sense in the situation. It was a calculated insult. A strategic jab.
Keith, on the other hand, is weaponizing the term of endearment without any rhyme or reason, simply to get back at Lance.
Or: Keith and Lance have gotten into the habit of using pet names as condescending insults. They're not really terms of endearment.

They’d offhandedly mentioned something about having a sleepover party once with their friends, and Allura had immediately picked up on the idea, insisting that it’d be “an excellent team-building opportunity”. The thing that finally pulled him out of his daydream planning was the words “Stark Industries” spoken loud and clear at the front of the class.
Looking up from his formula doodles he spotted the words “field trip” scrawled across the whiteboard. The class more or less erupted into cheers and claps from all bar 3 of the students.
The three current stark industries interns all just froze and shared concerned looks to each other. Obviously behind Ned’s concerned expression, was the joy and excitement that he was trying to suppress. Sure he went there all the time, both as an intern in his own right, and as peters friend to hang out on the living floors, but still, he was getting to spend a school day at his favourite place on earth!- Language:

Keith blinks.
“That is—” Lance clears his throat, shifting his weight uncomfortably. His hands are still in his pockets, his shoulders still hunched. “I like you—I like-like you. Like, in a more-than-friends-way like you.”
For a long moment Keith can only stare at him, astonishment and disbelief and cautious delight warring for dominance. And then, because he’s an idiot, because he spent a whole goddamn year in a goddamn shack in the middle of the goddamn desert and has no idea how to be a socially competent person, because he’s Keith, he says, “That was a lot of the word ‘like’ in one sentence.”
