Summary
Broken and scarred, Varian finds refuge in the strangest of places: with a warrior shrouded in shadow and mystery, who defies everything Varian has been told and offers him a new life.
Loneliness is the defining term of Hector's life, until he finds his brother's son in danger and takes him in. Now he struggles to keep his oath to protect the Moonstone while Varian grows more and more important to him.
The Moonstone is a demanding taskmaster, though, and loyalties are stretched and tested time and again. Though not bound by blood, the Brotherhood must band together to protect what matters; easier said than done, as broken promises and shattered pasts try to set fire to the foundations of the life they are trying to build.
