"Nothing, forget it," Regulus speaks quickly, he drops Sirius's hand off his shoulder and is about to turn and run away.
"No, no Reggie," Sirius shakes his head, grabbing his wrist "okay, it's okay, I'm not going to be angry, it's okay," he assures him quietly and calmly, even though his gaze is not calm at all.
"Sure," Regulus snorts, its wet, his eyes watery, it's obvious Sirius is lying and it hurts.
"No. Really, I just- I need a minute but it's okay," Sirius assures, it was okay, it was.

Regulus' life becomes very interesting at the magical age of sixteen, he changes schools, discovers his orientation, gets along with his brother... oh that's right, he falls in love with James Potter too.

Because they deserve at least one universe where they get to be kids.
