Summary
Katsuki being an omega is great. Shouto’s glad to have another ally, he really is. It’s just… Katsuki’s enduring his first heat at the moment, and while Shouto mostly just feels sorry that he has to deal with that pain on his own, he also feels the tiniest bit of resentment.
As he sits in the living room with all of these alphas, he thinks not only of how Katsuki would make this sausage fest more bearable, but also of how compatible Katsuki is with the alphas in this room. How he needs an alpha to make him feel better during his heats. How, once again, Shouto is a step below everyone else in the room.
No one needs a beta.

Katsuki’s throat feels tight. Shocked by such a brutal admission, he asks, “why?”
Shouto shrugs, “I think you have the potential to be a great king.” he says, turning to look Katsuki in the eyes again.
Katsuki finds himself wanting desperately to agree with him. If only it were that simple. “You sure do have a lot of excuses to justify murder,” he mutters.
Shouto smiles and Katsuki blows air out of his nose as he deflates a little.

Katsuki had a dream once where he was holding Shouto’s face in his hands, just looking, not doing a single other thing. It was nice, but it wasn’t- “don’t think you’re my type in the bedroom though.”
“Why is that?” Shouto asks, smiling now, like Katsuki just said something fascinating.
Katsuki shrugs. He’s really stepped in it now. He thinks Shouto is exactly the type Katsuki’s used to, not the type he wants. He can’t exactly tell Shouto that without explaining his preferences, without sharing that awful secret he’d spoken into the quiet of Kiri’s room.

“Uh-huh.” Katsuki catches the ball, smirks. “What’s the last sentence?”
Shoto closes the book. “Something about a storm.”
“Liar.” Katsuki tosses the ball aside, leans in, and kisses him, quick and smug. “Guess you’d rather stare at me, hm?”
“You’re not much longer than a sentence,” Shoto hums, hiding his smile behind the book.
Katsuki growls, pushes him back into the pillows, and kisses him again, slower this time, until Shoto’s hand slides up against the side of his neck with a chuckle.
“Better even,” Katsuki mutters against his mouth.
UA is on lockdown after threats against Shoto’s life. The whole class refuses to leave him unprotected, Aizawa never looks away, and Katsuki… well, he’s not about to let anyone touch what’s his.
