Summary
This is a Snape mentors Harry (Severitus) story centered on a disciplinary mentor dynamic in which corporal punishment is a core theme.
After Voldemort's return in the graveyard in Goblet of Fire, Dumbledore asks Snape to take a more hands-on role in protecting Harry, starting by giving him Occlumency lessons earlier than in canon. This is soon expanded into a broader mentorship, initiated by Snape with the goal of protecting Harry more effectively.
Snape grows to care for Harry, and Harry slowly comes to appreciate Snape — though their relationship develops gradually, with significant tension, conflict, and setbacks. The threat of Voldemort and Snape’s concerns about Harry’s recklessness shape their dynamic, keeping Snape rigid and demanding for much of Order of the Phoenix. The story will remain close to canon during the fifth year, then diverge more substantially in years six and seven as their mentorship deepens.

Shane hated clubs. Anyone who had spent any amount of time with him knew that he absolutely hated clubs. But it was Wyatt Hayes’s birthday, so Shane was sitting on a lumpy velvet couch surrounded by a majority of the Ottawa Centaurs players in a fucking strip club of all places. He glanced to his left to see Wyatt with his wife, Lisa, who was perched on his lap, both intensely watching the woman on stage peel her clothes off piece by piece to a low, thrumming beat. A blush crept up his cheeks as he followed their eyeline.
Or: The Centaurs venture out to a strip club for Wyatt's birthday, and Shane makes some very bad choices. When he wakes up in the morning, Shane is left hungover, ashamed, emotionally raw, and desperate to get the punishment he knows he's due out of the way.

The disorientation got worse; The room wouldn't stop spinning. Fear, as white hot and all consuming as wildfire, swept through her veins. What the hell was going on? What was happening to her?
The last thing that Lisa heard before being wheeled out was Clay saying, "You're gonna' be okay, Davis. You're gonna' be fine."

Turns out, Jason and company don't appreciate self-stitching as much as Clay thinks they should. Especially when that stitching is done with a real needle and thread.
