Harry sputters, mouth moving but no words coming out. She can feel her cheeks heat up, darkening with embarrassment.
“It’s not, Louis and I, we don’t—” Harry can’t finish the sentence, tongue heavy in her mouth. She takes a deep breath, thankful they’re not being videoed, and tries again, “We’ve never even met, actually.”

Louis fell apart when her ex broke up with her and moved across the country. Just as she’s starting to move on, Zayn comes back to town for their mutual friends’ wedding – with a new girlfriend as her plus one.
Blindsided and scrambling to save face, Louis lets herself get talked into a fake relationship with her new friend Harry. Their arrangement makes Louis feel pathetic and embarrassed, but it’s only going to last a few weeks. She just has to get through the wedding – what could happen?

Louis had been through the grinder since her days of being the ‘loud’ one in a cutesy girl band; she’s had her two years of fame, her three Disney original movies, and then fell off the face of the earth. She still released music, though. Her albums were dark, angry country—there was none of that blue jeans, cold beer, tractor ridin’ boot scootin’ for her; she sounded pissed as hell about the way of things and she only had three minutes and a guitar to tell you why.
But none of that explained what she was doing on Harry’s bunk.

He’s radiant, bathed in the soft glow of the moonlight. Harry watches a lone droplet of water slip down the column of Louis’ neck. He longs to touch; to feel.
“Do you think the moon’s jealous of how pretty you are?”
Harry doesn’t really mean to say it, but he finds that he doesn’t regret it either. Not when it elicits the most delicious flush to Louis’ cheeks, one he tries to hide by ducking his head. It’s the most bashful Harry has seen him all day.

It’s five o’clock in the morning. Louis has a lecture at half eight. He could be using this time to study or to do his readings or to go to the gym, but - well. He doesn’t have any exams coming up, he’s not going to his seminar today anyway and he hates the gym.
Instead he’s using this time to fuck with Harry Styles’ poor little brain.
Louis jogs across the street and jabs the key into the car door. It opens easily, not that he was expecting anything else. He copied the key for a reason, after all.
He’s got Harry’s schedule memorized, more because the guy keeps following him around than anything, so he doesn’t bother looking around before climbing behind the wheel and setting his bag on the passenger seat. It’s a Monday, which means that Harry doesn’t even get out of bed before noon unless he’s planning on harassing Louis.

“Hi,” he breathed. He blinked, and came back to himself a little bit, blushing at his own boldness. “Sorry. Is this okay?”
The stranger removed his right hand from the curve of Louis’ waist in order to cup his jaw, tilting it up to the angle he desired. He pressed their lips together, murmuring, “Definitely.” And then he kissed harder.
When Louis sees his ex-boyfriend kissing a random girl at a party, he acts out of blind jealousy. He kisses the first guy he can find. It turns into a thing.

It's a Tuesday evening when Louis hears that the band is in town. It's poor timing, really; he has precisely a thousand and one documents to catch up on for work, his flat needs a desperate cleaning that he's put off for weeks, and he's been fighting off a cold since Friday that finally seems to be winning. He stares at the band’s flyer posted online - a bleak announcement that they're back for one night only at their old stomping ground, a shit time slot right around midnight - and he gives it about 90 seconds before he's leaping off the couch, looking for his wallet.
Or, Louis is trying to get over his ex, and he thinks that paying their favourite band a visit might help bring him some closure.
He's wrong.
