"We break in and assess first." Bruce decides, pointing at a side entrance down below guarded by a lone guy with a rifle.
"I'll do it!" Dick volunteers eagerly, already taking off onto the warehouse’s roof and landing with barely a sound. He glances up at where Bruce stands ominously, watching him.
Dick flashes a thumbs-up as he sneaks to the guard, before getting the drop on him. Chokehold with his legs to cut off a scream, a punch to the head, push and flip off the now unconscious body, and voila.
Dick and Bruce head out on patrol; Bruce takes a blow to the head.

The creature creeps closer, those pupilless eyes studying Dick as it reaches out and plucks the strawberry off the sill with one long, clawed hand. Dick still hasn’t figured out where his creature comes from, or whether it requires real food or the souls of the damned for sustenance, but he seems to enjoy the snacks that Dick leaves him. His favorite is marshmallows, Dick learned several weeks ago, but this foster mom doesn’t buy them as much as the last one did.
“I wasn’t sure you’d come back again,” Dick says. Usually they meet in the woods, but this pair of foster parents is stricter than the last. He has a curfew now.
