    “All good,” he whispers, hands still placed on Buck’s neck. They stare at each other, afraid to move and way too afraid to speak. Eddie can feel Buck’s heart hammering against his chest, vibrating through his arms and matching his own heartbeat.

    “Thanks for coming back for me,” Buck says quietly and Eddie smiles.

    “Obviously I came back, Buck. Why wouldn’t I? You’re my partner and I got your back, remember?” he reminds him and Buck chuckles.

    “Yeah, and I got yours,” he replies and Eddie smiles wider.

    They should get moving. Buck needs medical attention. Eddie should pull back now. Buck should stop looking at him like that. Eddie should stop looking. Buck should stop glancing at his lips.
