Summary
Despite their attempt, the death eaters lost the battle at the ministry in June 1996 and Lucius Malfoy was arrested. Unfortunately for Draco, someone had to pay for this failure and the Dark Lord decided he would do just fine. On his way back home from Hogwarts, he met Greyback and his life turned upside-down. Forced to comply to consequences of actions he was never responsible for in first place, Draco struggled to live with both being a werewolf and a future death eater.
Navigating in a world he didn't fit in anymore became a lot harder after he began to work on his task. Fortunately, Remus had always been a very kind wizard who also happened to be a werewolf. Draco was getting swallowed by the darkness when Remus reached out to save him from himself. The death eaters couldn't help him so Draco found help in wizards he had never thought of as allies.
