Summary
Following a difficult past few days, Tav runs into Astarion in the woods, where a routine moment progresses into something more as the two re-explore pleasure and intimacy with each other, with Tav discovering just how pleasurable things can feel. After all, feeding on her blood feels good... what else could that mouth of their dexterous rogue do?
(This is an alternate 'first time together' between the two, in which Tav declined his first-night proposal scene and spent the night alone. Follows the pre-established pairing a few nights following Cazador, where Tav and Astarion just spent the night sitting together at his grave instead of the alternative options).

Now that her cruel master is dead, there are so many questions left unanswered and her romance with Astarion faces challenges.
But the biggest question mark of them all....is her old companion who showed up on their doorstep, who was supposed to be dead.

Neither of them is particularly good at the whole relationship thing, considering Astarion's trauma from his service to Cazador and Eli's fractured and blood-soaked memories. Astarion was silent for a moment, considering. The hand in her hair stilled while the one on her back pulled her in a bit tighter. “Is it…” he began, then paused a bit uncertainly, hesitant with his question. “Are you thinking about today? About…Gortash?”
He said the name so quietly that it would have been inaudible had they not been so closely pressed together. Eli wasn’t surprised about the question. She’d been acutely aware of how Astarion’s eyes never left her as she spoke with the newly crowned Archduke of Baldur’s Gate earlier that day. How he had discreetly positioned himself closely behind her, just off to her right. How he’d tensed, fingers ghosting near the hilt of a hidden dagger when Gortash said he’d always liked Eli. How his gaze darkened and his jaw tightened as Astarion sized the man up from across the hall before they left.

Astarion tries to get close to Frey on a bad day, but it backfires badly and Frey says something they both regret. He promises to forgive them if they’ll only agree let him comfort them. Every warning bell in Frey’s mind screams that it’s a trap, but a deal is a deal.
“It’s alright, darling,” he says. “Relax. Let me take care of you, and all is forgotten.”
Ah. It makes sense now. He wants blackmail material. He wants to have something to hold over their head. Well, fair is fair.
Frey lets their arms wrap around his torso, settling their head against his neck. They can feel his satisfied hum as one of his hands rises to stroke their hair. He’s so gentle, Frey almost forgets it’s all a game. The knowledge that it’s all fake feels like an ice knife in the heart, a reminder of the connection and affection Frey can only dream of one day deserving.
“Good. Very good, darling.”
His praise is like a drug and something inside Frey snaps, releasing all of the tension built up over the last few weeks.

At the apex of the fight between the party and Cazador's merry band of ghouls and werewolves, Astarion holds the blade with a trembling hand, his pupils retracted so much his eyes look entirely red. This is the moment he has been dreaming of. Cazador on his knees, weak and dirty. His master reduced to dust. He can't stop a wicked tear.
Then he begs.
He begs Tav, again and again, every plea louder and angrier than the other.
Tav holds her ground. She will not let Astarion become the monster who tortured him. She will not burn 7007 souls just to watch Astarion be stripped of his. She knows the man enough to see him drunk on the illusion of power.
When Astarion understands, he swiftly slashes Cazador's neck and grips his hair to rip his head away, sending it rolling.
Then
he turns.
And charges.
Towards Tav.A year after the defeat of the Netherbrain, Tav thought that this would be her last memory of him. Until unrecognizable bodies start littering the streets of the city they worked so hard to rebuild. Charged with the case, she learns she has to work with an organization associated with the victims. The negotiator they sent proves to be none other than a silver haired vampire.
