Summary
The facility was big and blocky. It wasn’t clad in concrete or steel or anything obviously evil-looking. There were big windows on the upper levels. Two industrial chimneys poked up into the sky, their tops too high and out of the reach of Prompto’s flashlight to be seen. It was all dead, black inside, empty. Even the wind sounded quieter here.

"You haven't."
Stroking a thumb over the other's ribs, Prompto says, "You're allowed to, you know. You're allowed to cry."
It takes Ignis a long time to speak again; long enough that Prompto shifts position, kisses his jaw, squeezes him a little tighter in a silent acknowledgement that he doesn't have to say anything. But he does in the end, and it's unsteady and quiet in the shadowed room.
"Even if I wanted to, I… I find myself unable."
Ignis doesn’t cry. Prompto finds out why.

March-April, 2002.
When Trish closes the hatch of the trunk, she pauses in the warm April air, heavy with the scent of flowers. She turns back to the house in thought. Just behind her in a running car sits her luggage in a neat pile and inside her room lays a neat note on her bed. She has everything ready for her leave and for her return.
Even so, she hesitates on the bricks of the driveway. She looks back to the car and almost makes a movement as if she’s going to get in, but she changes her mind. Just as swiftly, she walks back into the house without a spare thought.
She wants someone to come along with her; she decides.
