Summary
Six years into the Long Night, Ignis accidentally pulled the old Carbuncle totem from the armiger. Alone and under the cover of darkness, Ignis had allowed himself a moment of weakness and broke down. Curling a fist around the weathered glass, he raised the totem to his trembling lips and whispered in fervent prayer, “Keep him safe.”
Four and a half years later, Noctis wakes without a recollection of who he once was in a world that seemingly has no place for him. His only companions: a harried blue fox, and a temperamental shadow with a mind of its own.

Summary
Theme n°46: Family
Prompto lets out a soft gasp and kisses back, not letting himself time to double guess it. The exchange is very short but intense, and after a second, Noctis falls back into the driver seat, grinning at him again. His eyes are shining with affection and mischief, and Prompto’s heart does this thing where it forgets they ever met before, and it falls for him all over again, swelling up until his chest feels too tight, stealing his breath away.
“Happy birthday,” Noctis tells him, and Prompto blinks again.
“But it’s not my birthday,” he answers, completely lost now.
ORIt's been a year since the Sun has risen and the Long Night has ended.
After Prompto has come around, he and Noctis finally get to taste the happiness that has been eluding them for so long. But it's not all sugar and rainbows and through all the joys and first times, many hardships and trials await. The energy crisis is only getting worse as the Meteor has disappeared with Titan, and without an Oracle, speaking to the Gods is impossible.
Determined to marry Prompto no matter the duties inherent to his title, Noctis rules kindly and learns to put himself first.Series

Summary
So as it turns out, people get pretty upset when old gods flood their apartment complexes or burn down the city capitol. Not to name any names, of course, but wonton destruction certainly hasn’t earned the Six any brownie points, not in the eyes of the people.
The people of Eos demand reparations. They demand justice, vengeance, and answers.
The gods do not intend to give them any of it.

Summary
In the ten years that Noctis had been stranded in stasis within the crystal, the rest of Eos had survived the Long Night, the World of Ruin, and his friends had been at the forefront of it all, hands-on in the rebuilding efforts and on the front lines of the fight against the demons and standing up for everything Noct had stood for in his absence. Now, ten years later, Noct was spat out without warning and with Umbra by his side, and he had to reacquaint himself with the new people that his friends had become in his absence.
The more things changed, the more things stayed the same.

Summary
Noctis missed the bashful creature that had taken him stargazing when they were small boys, or blushed when Noctis held his hand, oblivious in his innocence, and told him how beautiful his music was.
Hearing the music made him feel as though he could feel the velvet of the piano bench, the weight of Ignis's body pressed against him as he swayed in time to the music. He was a prince, and betrothed at that; that was all that he would ever have of Ignis, no matter how much more his traitorous heart wanted.
These were pleasant reminders... good memories.

That was his friend, their King, resting his head in the lap of the man destined to kill him. That was his friend, sighing deeply and leaning his weight more fully against Ardyn’s legs as though it were the backseat of his beloved Regalia.
He marveled at how lightly those hands touched Noctis now, gentle in a way he didn’t know the man was capable of.

Summary
Astrals, sometimes he wished Prompto could take a fucking hint.
His feelings weren’t exactly new, though he really only became aware of them when Prompto pushed aside his apology, when he came forward about his origins and didn’t even try to hold a smile. It was one of his last thoughts as he sunk into the crystal, how he’d yet again missed his chance to spend time with someone he loved.
And then he came back with a death sentence and knew he could never confess. Prompto didn’t deserve that burden.
But he lived.

Summary
"You know, I don't think I've ever seen you cry," he says, an absent observation.
"You haven't."
Stroking a thumb over the other's ribs, Prompto says, "You're allowed to, you know. You're allowed to cry."
It takes Ignis a long time to speak again; long enough that Prompto shifts position, kisses his jaw, squeezes him a little tighter in a silent acknowledgement that he doesn't have to say anything. But he does in the end, and it's unsteady and quiet in the shadowed room.
"Even if I wanted to, I… I find myself unable."
Ignis doesn’t cry. Prompto finds out why.
