Days after the Resistance was nearly wiped out at the Battle of Crait, Rey and new Supreme Leader Kylo Ren are forced to realize that the bond between them was not extinguished when they went their separate ways.
As the implications of their connection begin to become clear and they realize that their destinies are entwined, a new threat rises that threatens to destroy them all.
“Whatever this bond is between us, it doesn’t seem to be going away,” Rey hissed through clenched teeth. “We have to deal with that, somehow, but we are still on opposite sides of a war. You chose that.”
“Not much of a war,” he quipped with a nasty smirk. “There is almost nothing left of the Resistance and the First Order’s power still spreads. As for the bond between us,” he glanced pointedly at the spot on his chest where her head had been resting, “you didn’t seem to mind it last night.”

Summary
Takes place one year after The Last Jedi. Some elements from TROS (planets, characters and some plot beats), manipulated a little or a lot to suit my version of the story. Expect appearances from past and present characters and conflict within our two opposing sides; the Resistance and the First Order, as the galaxy at large comes to terms with the complications and consequences caused by the dyad
Rey and Kylo are very conflicted over the events in Snoke’s Throne Room so prepare for a very slow-burn romance, angst and humour as they sort out their feelings over a lengthy resolution to their epic star-crossed drama.
This is everything I would have loved to see in TROS to close the circle of the Skywalker Saga and resolve Light and Dark, albeit with a lot more introspection than would be permissible for a big-budget Hollywood blockbuster. But it’s Star Wars and my two favourite characters and I can’t help digging into their feelings as events unfold. Written in the third person, mostly from the morally confused and increasingly enamoured perspectives of Rey and Kylo.

Rey was already a bad Jedi, so in the dark of the AT-AT that had sheltered her during her vulnerable years, she gave in to the allure of the fantasy. Kylo Ren’s tall frame and big hands, his dark hair and hungry eyes. His desperation as he’d said “Please.” The sheer size of him, combined with the peek at his vulnerabilities she’d gotten from this strange, antagonistic Force bond.
As if she’d summoned him, his consciousness brushed against her own, dark and tempting.
You hate me, he said in her mind.
There wasn’t a word to encompass how she felt about him. Yes, she agreed, ignoring the twinge of guilt.

This work arose from two mirrored one-shots I wrote on Tumblr, one from Rey's perspective, and one from Kylo/Ben's. Then I started getting feedback, and now it's become a full-fledged fic.
Several months have passed since the Battle of Crait, and Rey of Jakku and Supreme Leader Kylo Ren have continued to haunt each other, appearing at random to each other throughout their days and nights. But the connection is unstable, and longing and loneliness start to overwhelm other concerns.
