“We were always supportive!”
“Sure, Jan.”
“You’re grounded.”
“No, I’m not.”
“Till college!”
“Dad, you spent my college fund moving to El Paso for three months only to come home and pretend you’re not in love with your best friend.”
“I’m not pretending!”

"Maybe I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't have to listen to every rendition of Baby Shark for two hours straight!" Eddie says, jabbing his finger in Buck's face.
Buck glowers. "Like you can talk, how many times do you have to sing the multiplication song to not be off key?"
Ravi's groan is earth-shattering. "Can you guys please get out of my classroom?"

Summary
“You’re gonna go call him, aren’t you?”
Buck doesn’t dignify that with an answer because they both know what he’d say, and Chris throws himself dramatically back against the couch.
“I called dibs on you today. Don’t let him sway you to his side.”
Something warm unfurls through Buck at the idea of that. Being important enough to Chris that he’d want to call dibs.
“There are no sides, bud.” He ruffles Chris’s hair, “But you know I’m always on your team.”
(or: eddie & chris get in an argument. this time around, instead of running away, chris comes to buck.)
