Namjoon charges, startling the assailant and his victim. Above him, he can see citizens pressing their noses to windows, gasping, happy to see this simple robbery take an unexpected turn. He sees curious beggars quitting dark shadows, hungry for more. He sees the face of the victim, young and pretty, too pretty for this neighbourhood, and the relief on his face when Namjoon attacks. But it lasts only an instant, his face growing pale as if he has been slapped.

And, like he’d jinxed it, Jungkook very suddenly pulled away entirely, moving to sit on the opposite end of the sofa, pulling a blanket around him.
“Let’s carry on watching the movie,” Jungkook had mumbled, clearly trying very hard not to make eye contact with Namjoon.
