The Bellas continue to win, she has a sweet and loving boyfriend, and a best friend who she might have a crush on.However of this pretty much gets upended right off the bat when Amy has a nightmare inducing wardrobe malfunction.
This puts the Bellas existence in jeopardy and introduces a new person who is her rival but also make Beca question everything about herself. Normally she would count on Chloe and Jesse to help her keep her head, but she can’t go to either with this.

What if Beca DIDN'T audition for the Bellas?
After a beautiful, confident fellow student at Barden University abruptly joined Beca in a shower for an impromptu, naked singing session, Beca felt strangely compelled to do what was then requested of her: audition for the campus' premier A Cappella team, the Barden Bellas. When she showed up at the audition, however, that sudden, burning, and still present interest in that strange red-headed girl was just not enough to compel her to embarrass herself in front of a large group of strangers.
Beca did as she always did. She withdrew. But the girl, Chloe, remained in her mind. And, as it turns out, it's harder to get away from the Barden Bellas, and its two captains, than Beca might have thought.
Or maybe it was just destiny, telling her she made a mistake, and punishing her for it.
