Ennis sucks in a breath so hard he chokes on it, ‘cause he sees Jack in the sky sometimes; he sees eyes in the horizon and hears a laugh on the goddamn wind and feels the caress of his thumb on the sway of tall grass. Sometimes he sees him in the back of some guys head at the bar, sometimes he expects a stranger to turn and for a gentle face to smile back at him with teeth like a wolfs an’ ask him what the hell a guy like him is doing in a place like this.
Sometimes he sees Jack in the every day sights that come with living.

Summary
Merlin watches the sun kiss Arthur Pendragon, watches it paint his golden body in a brighter shade, watches it leave him blessed with it’s midas touch. He thinks that if he called to the sun with his power it would hang in the sky a few moments longer— to give him a better view, allow him to commit this moment to memory, allow him to copy each slope and dip and callous. He thinks that if he spoke to time she would pause for him, would allow him to steal him away— He is aging; Merlin would tell her; I can see it in each new day, each new wrinkle, each new smile. Let him take me with him, this time. Do not leave me to hold silent vigil over his cooling corpse and his bones that will be bleached by the very sun that bathes him now. He thinks that if he were the type to pull rank, death would halt his scythe.

Summary
“Arthur.” Merlin’s voice is very final, the wise tone he adopts in the strangest of moments overtaking his voice. It reminds Arthur, suddenly, of how young they where when they first met, and how weathered they are now. Merlin is so much older than the giddy laughs of his boyhood. Terrifyingly, the wise voice fits this line-pressed face and bruised under-eye man who hangs above him. “You have nothing to be sorry for. I’ve given everything I’ve given willingly.”
That’s the problem, Arthur wants to grab him tightly by the shoulders and shake him hard. You do not know when to stop giving pieces of yourself, you will be dust before me, crumbled from giving too much of yourself away. Where is my boy who threatened the prince? Where is my boy who stumbles? Where is my boy who is made of too-big ears and bright smiles full of teeth and sparking eyes? Of mischief and boyhood? Of clumsy youth and innocence? When did I lose you?
When did you give away all the parts of yourself that I loved, that I recognized? Where did you lose yourself for me?

Summary
Tony can feel the body he’s been leaning against getting hollow, falling apart. Peter’s jaw sets as the cracking splinters journey up his neck and overtake the line of his chin -and all too fast he’s gone, his eyes leaving Tony’s as he floats off into the wind on a breeze Tony doesn’t feel.
Tony’s hand slams through what once was the spider emblem he designed, Peter’s chest, and smacks against rock; sliding on dust that didn’t escape with the wind and sticking to his hand, tacky with his own dried blood.
He stares at it, cradles it with his other fingers to his jaw, feels the heat of a setting sun, and wonders if this is how all the parents of kids he failed to save over the years felt.
And in that moment, he decides he’s never really been a hero.
Or
Tony watches the kid die, and then finds out he's not so dead. Peter and the other dusted are alive... just moved over a dimension.
They need a plan to get them back.

“Maybe you don’t remember the movie.” Tony turns around, jaw clenched and eyes wide, “but you remember everything. Everything important. You said you don’t have me figured out. But I call bull shit, becuase you finish my fucking sentences, Strange. You find the truth I’m trying to ignore and point it out to me. You know my future, you know my kid’s future. You know the future. You know me. You’ve fucking watched me and met me and understood me so many godamn times, so pick the fucking movie, Strange.”
Strange doesn’t flinch. “Tony. Have you ever considered, that each time I focus on you and not anything else?”
Tony swallows.
“I remember you because you’re the only one that matters.” Strange says. “At some points I forgot myself, but in each I remembered you.”
Or
Tony and Strange are trying to make this work, this being remaking The Avengers.
...And maybe they'll stumble into something else along the way.(Also, I changed bruce coming back in the beginning of Infinity War. He didn't. Don't question it.)

I am here, in a different timeline and at a different time. But my marriage exists. It is a figure in four-dimensional space which will continue to exist, in that sense, eternally. So long as the timeline does not collapse, it is a permanent part of history. So although I do not have my spouse with me, I know that he existed. That somewhere, in a time and a dimension I cannot go, we are meeting for the first time. That somewhere, I am asleep in his arms.”
