Summary
Somewhere on the trek back from the Upside Down, moments before the explosion, Will admitted to Mike that he had feelings for him. However, far from being a romantic declaration, Will immediately clarified that he intended to move past those feelings just so they could remain friends.
Denied the space to process what Will’s confession might actually mean to him, Mike has transformed into a fiercely protective presence—or, as Max likes to call it, 'territorial.' Amidst half-finished conversations and terrible communication skills, they will still have to find a way to each other.

Summary
Mike is, well… Mike. And Mike is many things. He’s a multifaceted person who’s many things at once. Good things, for sure. Mostly. Because Mike can also be quite reckless and stupid. Sometimes, when intelligence mattered.
Will isn’t being dishonest when he says both are things he likes about his best friend. He’d never say it aloud, but that bright, unheeding beam that settles on Mike’s face whenever he has a crazy idea does things to him. Dangerous things. Things that make Will dumb enough to go along with even when he knows he'll probably get him in trouble. Sometimes, though, he wishes Mike would ruminate a bit more on his thoughts before saying them aloud.
“Why not lose our virginities to each other? And that’s right, right? Virginities because it’s...”
What the hell is coming out of his mouth?
“Excuse me?”
Or:
Will and Mike promise to lose their virginity (among other things) to each other…
And, honestly, Will thinks it’s a dumb idea but agrees anyhow. Mike has always had the tendency to make eager but haphazard suggestions every once in a while.
He pointedly does not think about the consequences that could entail.

But this was the one chance a boy who survived the cold dark world, to escape into the red rift, he knew it would take him away, he didnt know where but if it was out of this hell he didnt care. He just couldnt be here anymore. He needed that one chance to be freed.But somehow home didnt feel like home. He didnt know what it was suppose to feel like. It just wasnt home, he was still cold, he was still alone.

Summary
After Will Byers returns to Hawkins after living in California for five years, his life turns upside down. Going back to his past life — a life he thought was long gone — comes with great struggle Will tries to convince everyone (himself included) it’s just some seasonal depression that’s going to wear off once fall is over.
Turns out it’s anything but a seasonal depression, as Will begins to feel like he’s going insane — feeling like he’s haunted by the ghost of his past, struggling to eat anything as food looks like poison, and with a good night’s sleep becoming a thing of the past.
And it certainly doesn’t help that Mike Wheeler keeps staring at him from across the hallway like a creep. He keeps staring instead of talking to Will, instead of making things right after ghosting him years ago.
Because despite once being inseparable, now Will sees Mike as nothing but a cowardly stranger, who didn’t have the guts to write him one last letter saying he didn’t want to keep in touch anymore. Or at least that’s Will’s point of view.
