Honestly, she really wishes he hadn’t.
Irritation huffs out of her as she turns her head toward him, glowering. “I could leave you behind,” she pronounces, “because right now, you’re only slowing me down.” She moves them forward another large forceful step, deliberately digging her fingers into his jacket just over where she knows he’d been hit. “If you don’t want that, then I’d suggest you shut your fucking mouth.”
The fact that, under his arched brow, she swears there’s a brief flicker of something like faint amusement on his face in response to that, quirking his mouth and lighting up in his eyes, does nothing to improve her opinion.
Or: two strangers meet on an unremarkable Mid-Rim port planet — or so they thought.

“We. You’re invited too.”
“Oh.” That she didn’t expect. “I didn’t think they knew anything about me.”
I didn’t think you told them. She doesn’t say it out loud, but the subtext is there.
Jyn's demons rarely let her relax and those voices telling her she isn't good enough, that one day Cassian will leave, don't seem to want to rest when Bix Caleen invites her old friend to visit.

He nodded, cracking a smile. “You’re still in the fight, now, are you?”
“Of course,” she said, matching his smile. “I couldn’t face myself if I backed out now.”
…Force.
He was in love with her.In which Cassian and Jyn alone manage to escape Scarif and have to work together to get back to the Rebel base in time to blow up the Death Star!
